The West Dummerston Fire Department is a volunteer fire department serving the town of Dummerston. Dummerston is a small town in South Eastern Vermont, stretching from the shores of the Connecticut River, over Black Mountain, to the West River, and then up again to the Mountains and Sunset Lake.

Our 30 members and 5 apparatus respond to average of 160 calls per year ranging from car accidents to car fires and structure fires. We also provide medical first response to the citizens of our town.

WDFD News

WDFD was awarded a 2009 Assistance tor Firefighter Grant in January of 2010. We received 16 sets of bunker gear and a washer/extractor.

WDFD was awarded a 2010 Assistance to Firefighter Grant in February of 2011 for 19 new SCBA, spare bottles, and a fill station. The total award was over $112,000!
